A number of our Stay Up Late Ambassadors have been interviewed on the radio and on television. We think it’s important that people with learning disabilities have their voices heard. We also love our Ambassadors helping spread the word about what our charity does, too, of course.
Sas who is a Stay Up Late Ambassador from West Sussex said: “I’ve been on the TV news and on the radio talking about Stay Up Late and Gig Buddies. They didn’t ask me anything too difficult. Basically, I made the whole radio station laugh!”
Because so many of our ambassadors are keen on doing TV and radio interviews to help get our message out there we thought it would be a good idea to do a media training training session. We had a lot of fun doing role-play exercises where we could practice being interviewed.
We’ve also put together this Easy Read guide with some tips for doing great radio and TV interviews. Do feel free to use it – and to share it!
